Cooperation Agreement with PT Risechem Technology for Waste Processing of Large Multi-National Factories Using AOP (Advanced Oxidation Process)
South Tangerang (September 25, 2023), PT Nanotech Indonesia Global Tbk. and Risechem Technology Indonesia have officially signed a revolutionary cooperation agreement to address industrial waste management issues at the Nanoplex Headquarters in South Tangerang. The waste management under this agreement utilizes the Advanced Oxidation Process (AOP) to reduce the environmental impact of factory waste.
This agreement involves Mr. Taufiqu Rochman (President Director of Risechem Technology Indonesia), Mr. Suryandaru, M.T. (President Director of PT Nanotech Indonesia Global Tbk.), and Prof. Dr. Nurul Taufiqu Rochman, M.Eng., Ph.D. (President Commissioner of PT Nanotech Indonesia Global Tbk.) with the main objective of providing a more sustainable environmental solution, AOP will be used to remove pollutants and hazardous substances in factory waste and reduce negative impacts on the ecosystem.
Further details on the responsibilities, timeframes, obligations, and other requirements related to the waste treatment of large multinational factories using AOP are also included in the agreement. Both parties strongly hope this agreement will be a significant first step in efforts to maintain environmental sustainability and adopt more environmentally friendly industrial practices.
The Faculty of Engineering, University of Sebelas Maret (UNS) and PT Risechem Technology Indonesia Collaborate to Support Research Development and Funding for Master's Students
UNS – The Faculty of Engineering (FT) at Sebelas Maret University (UNS) in Surakarta continues to strengthen its collaboration with the industrial sector by signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with PT Risechem Technology Indonesia. This agreement represents a concrete step in promoting integration between engineering development and its application in the industrial world, particularly in the fields of wastewater treatment technology and specialized chemicals.
The signing ceremony took place in the Leadership Meeting Room of the Ir. RPM. Kasifudin Building, FT UNS on Thursday (15/5/2025). This activity was attended by the Dean of FT UNS, Prof. Dr. Ir. Wahyudi Sutopo, S.T., M.Si., IPU; Director of PT Risechem Technology Indonesia, Taufiqu Rochman; Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs of UNS, Prof. Dr. Ir. Eko Surojo, S.T., M.T.; Deputy Dean for Non-Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ir. Niken Silmi Surjandari, S.T., M.T.; Deputy Dean for Student Affairs and Alumni, Ir. Feri Adriyanto, S.Pd., M.Si., Ph.D.; Head of the Master of Chemical Engineering Study Program, Dr. Ir. Wusana Agung Wibowo, S.T., M.T.; and Head of the Undergraduate Program in Chemical Engineering, Dr. Joko Waluyo, S.T., M.T.
One concrete manifestation of this collaboration is the financial support provided by PT Risechem Technology Indonesia for two Master of Chemical Engineering students from the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Sebelas Maret (FT UNS). This assistance was provided directly by PT Risechem as a manifestation of their commitment to supporting research development in the academic environment. This collaboration was welcomed by FT UNS and is expected to strengthen research capacity, particularly in the areas of environmentally friendly technology and the use of specialty chemicals.
"We believe that the Faculty of Engineering's human resources, particularly those in Chemical Engineering, have significant potential to drive the development of this technology. With the financial support of two master's students, relevant research will continue to grow and develop," said the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, UNS, Prof. Dr. Ir. Wahyudi Sutopo, S.T., M.Si., IPU.
This collaboration focuses on two main areas: the development of waste treatment technology (Waste Treatment Plant/WTP) to be implemented at UNS Hospital, and further research in Advanced Oxidation Processes (AOP) with the support of the Chemical Engineering Laboratory of the Faculty of Engineering, UNS. Both parties will direct this collaboration towards commercialization and production. The Faculty of Engineering, UNS, will also focus on research aspects, the development of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), as well as strengthening academic capacity and publication of research results.
PT Risechem Director, Taufiqu Rochman, on that occasion emphasized the importance of building mutually beneficial cooperation between industry and higher education institutions. "The most important thing about this collaboration is creating synergy that benefits both parties," he said.
The Faculty of Engineering (FT) of UNS will also support the socialization and promotion of collaborative technologies, particularly the AOP-based WTP project. PT Risechem will play a role in technical aspects such as production and technology development, as well as supporting financing needs, including funding for two Master's students in Chemical Engineering.
This partnership not only aims to improve the quality of research and technology development in chemical and environmental engineering, but is also expected to strengthen the innovation ecosystem that bridges industry needs with university research findings. This aligns with the achievement of the seventeenth Sustainable Development Goal (SDG), Partnerships to Achieve the Goals.
